There has been a school in Alverstoke since 1842 and the current building was opened in 1970 on a large site in the centre of the village. Currently Alverstoke Junior School is two form entry with 272 pupils on roll. We are well staffed with 10 members of our teaching staff and 5 learning support assistants. In addition we have a home school link worker who works with our parents.

We are very proud of the wide curriculum offered to our pupils. This is augmented by a wide variety of extra curricular activities, which include 10 different sports - everything from sailing to karate as well as art and music. The school has a thriving choir and orchestra.

The children tell us that they enjoy coming to school and they achieve high standards by the time they leave us at 11.
